Join our Board
We are looking for Non-Executive Directors to join the Maritime UK Solent Board.
We surface marine excellence, experience and expertise in the Solent area by having three clear priorities:
Champion, Lead, and Grow.
CHAMPION
Raising the profile of the Solent – locally, nationally, and internationally – as a globally leading maritime cluster that has world leading maritime excellence, fosters innovation, provides an exceptional location to invest and trade, provides rewarding careers, and has a unique maritime story.
LEAD
Providing leadership for the Solent maritime sector by bringing together the breadth of the sector, coordinating cross-sector activity, projecting a collective voice, and providing a direct link to Maritime UK and Government.
GROW
Developing and maintaining a compelling value proposition for the Solent maritime cluster that attracts new investment, raises productivity and output, creates new jobs, and the skills the sector needs.
Maritime UK Solent Charity of the Year
Portsmouth Sail Training Trust (PSTT) is our Charity of the Year. The Maritime UK Solent Board chose them after our application process, as part of the Awards in 2023. The team at Portsmouth Sail Training Trust played a fundamental part in our Awards event last year and we have been working with them ever since.
Based in Portsmouth, the Portsmouth Sail Training Trust provides maritime training, qualifications and mentoring for young people who face social, economic or educational challenges that limit their opportunities.
The Charity relies on the goodwill of experienced volunteers and donors. As our Charity of the Year – we hope to help spread the word about the brilliant work that they do, and also to help develop engagement with businesses across the region, who can support the fabulous work that they do.
